Rhino encounter of a wonderful kind
ByRhino is today a species under stress.South Africa is home to more than 80% of the world’s rhinos. I was in the Timbavati last year and was struck by how very frigid the rhino we encountered were. Last year more than one rhino was killed. This year we are going to almost two every day. At this rate the species may well be extinct within a generation. This has all come about due to the “value” of the horns in places like China and Vietnam where mystical power is ascribed to the humble horn.
Recently I was blessed to see both a white and a black rhino at one waterhole. I have photos to prove it, but sadly cannot disclose where these wonderful creatures find themselves for obvious reasons. Enjoy folks.Lets keep it that way.
